Anyone here know sewing machine basics and willing to look at my teenager’s machine with us for a few minutes? We are both beginners and experiencing major bobbin and tension frustration!

Autumn, set the tension to 4, That’s good for most fabrics. Also, make sure the sewing machine needle is the correct size for your fabric and make sure the thread is the correct type of thread for your fabric. Those are most common things that can cause the problems you are having.

Also, make sure the little black locks on both sides of the bobbin casing are locked in so the bobbin won’t fall out. If those things don’t work reach out to me this next week and we can meet in the makerspace and I’ll look at it.
